Greenville Watershed Conference and Training Facility

This 5,000 square foot facility is located at Greenville Water’s reservoir in the upstate of South Carolina. Its purpose is threefold: provide training space for approximately 50 people, a lobby/lounge to greet visitors and for informal commissioner use, and an area for technicians to work and other support spaces. In addition, terrace areas are provided as an extension of the interior spaces. We were invited to study the site and propose several options and a budget to be considered by the client. The design vision for the project was to create a highly functional environment maximizing views to the reservoir that would be sensitive to the natural setting. The modern expression integrates steel, wood timbers, and stone, and can integrate sustainable features such as solar panels and rainwater collection.
