BUCM Ministry Center Upfit

BUCM is a Christian Ministry focused on assisting the homeless and other underserved people in the Burke County area. The goal of their project was to upfit a 42,000 square foot abandoned grocery store into an all-encompassing ministry center. The program includes an area where clients can receive counseling support, training, clothes, take showers, wash clothes, and even take a nap. In addition to this there are offices for community partners that assist in the work. Other elements include a soup kitchen with a dining area for 80 persons, a food pantry, warehouse/storage areas, administrative offices with a larger conference room, and a flex training/event area for use by the community.
